Prices are the entry list prices each vendor publishes on its own US pricing page, read on Oct 27, 2026. They exclude taxes, payment processing unless stated, hardware, add-ons and negotiated discounts; a promotion appears only in the notes, labeled as one. Prices change. No vendor paid for a place or a price in this table.
Verdict: keep Adobe Acrobat for signing PDFs; buy PandaDoc Business only for the sales or agency staff who assemble priced documents.
This page compares the Acrobat team licenses a company already owns, Standard and Pro for teams, with PandaDoc. Adobe's separately licensed Acrobat Sign plans for larger organizations, which have their own integrations, are quoted and are not covered here. This is rarely a clean choice between two products. Adobe sells e-signature collection inside its Acrobat team plans, so a company that already licenses Acrobat for its staff can send PDFs for signature without another purchase; the standalone Acrobat Sign plans for larger organizations are quoted. PandaDoc sells a document-building tool with signing included. The question is whether part of your team needs the building. Adobe's list price below was read on October 27, 2026, PandaDoc's plan-comparison article on October 28; Adobe's business page did not render prices on our second visit.

Why Acrobat takes the verdict for PDF signing
Contracts written by legal, HR letters, vendor agreements and signed forms are finished PDFs before anyone asks for a signature. Acrobat already handles that job for a company that owns it, inside the tool people use to open and edit those files. Buying PandaDoc for the same work adds a second seat cost and a second archive without changing the outcome.
When PandaDoc earns a second bill
A sales team that quotes is a different case. Building a proposal with selectable options, a pricing table the client can adjust, approval before sending and a CRM record updated at signature is what PandaDoc Business sells. Buy it for those users only: a five-person sales team on PandaDoc Business costs five seats, while the rest of the company keeps signing in Acrobat. PandaDoc Starter is the wrong compromise, since it lacks the pricing tables and quote builder that justify switching.
The deciding check
List who sends documents for signature and where each document is written. Anyone whose documents start as PDFs stays on Acrobat. Anyone who builds a priced proposal from scratch is a PandaDoc Business candidate. If nobody does, you do not need PandaDoc.
